Built to Lead, Forced to Prove It - Leadership on the Glass Cliff
This Women History Month, we challenge the conventional narrative that separates "leaders" from "entrepreneurs," and examine what happens when you must be both, often simultaneously, often without formal authority.
Time & Location
24 Mar 2026, 19:30 – 21:30
The Nine, Rue Archimède 69, 1000 Bruxelles, Belgium
About the event
The Glass Cliff is not a theory. It is a documented organizational behaviour.
Women are systematically appointed to leadership positions during crises, then evaluated on whether they fixed conditions that were already broken before they arrived (1).
The cost is measurable.
Women CEOs average 5 years in role against 8 for men (2).
Women appointed to Glass Cliff positions are subsequently considered for fewer leadership roles than both male counterparts and women appointed during stable periods. 38% of women have had their judgment questioned in their area of expertise, compared to 26% of men. (3)
On 24 March, participants will sit as a jury.
