Intersectional solutions for climate change

A conference at the intersection of

Belgium Black history month and International Women's Day

Join the first climate change conference focusing on intersectionality!

Join the first climate change conference focusing on intersectionality

and offering a transatlantic approach!

Intersectionality

1

Intersectionality is an analytical framework for understanding how individuals' various social and political identities result in unique combinations of discrimination and privilege.

Intersectionality identifies multiple factors of advantage and disadvantage.

Everybody is intersectional

2

  • Some have an intersectionality seen as positive

(man, white, heterosexual, upper-class, Christian).

  • Some have an intersectionality seen as negative

(woman, black, heterosexual, upper-class, Christian).

"Climate change is neither gender nor diversity neutral".

3

"Climate story isn't about old white men"

4

Non-white scientists appear on fewer editorial boards, spend more time under review, and receive fewer citations.

This conference will amplify diverse voices, featuring both women and men, embracing positive and negative intersectionality, envisioning  (transatlantic) collaborations to unite in showcasing transformative solutions that collectively pave the way towards a sustainable future for all.
